My journey so far…
My journey into the healing arts started through my own health issues from an early age. I completed my first therapeutic massage and reflexology course when I was 18. From there my graduate and post-graduate degrees were in Health Science and Psychology. My hunger for learning and health led me to train in a wide range of healing modalities.
I first came across the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy® in 2012, when I was undergoing IVF treatment, and looking for ways that might assist this process. I found a practitioner in Auckland, I think the only one in New Zealand back then, there are a few more now! I fell pregnant 3 months later. I am honoured to now be able to work with clients using these techniques myself.
When I was 8 months pregnant and desperate to dance in March 2013, I came across Qoya, and fell in love. I danced Qoya every month from then and completed the Qoya Teacher Training program early 2017. It brings together so many things that I adore, as a movement practice, a way in which to balance and return to myself, and also a beautiful way to connect with other women.
With my little one about five weeks old, walking up and down the hall, constant jigging, and not knowing what to do when my daughter cried, I knew I needed some more information than what I currently had. A good friend gave me a copy of Aware Baby by Aletha Solter. The principles, ideas, and philosophies deeply resonated with me. I read all of her books within the next few months and travelled to Australia when my daughter was one, to start the journey of becoming an Aware Parenting Instructor.
I am passionate about everything organic and love being in nature.
